Creating a first mobile application in Poland which will be used more than once by both existing clients of Generali as well as potential clients of the company. The goal of the application is promoting both Generali and Decerto.
Decerto together with Generali created one team R&D, which was simultaneously looking for ideas and creating essential technologies not existing on the market at that time.
Ultimately, the team decided on building a mobile application which after scanning Aztec code presented on a logbook would show an offer of insurance premium for OC and AC insurance as well as insurance history of the car (current car accidents reported to UFG).
Calculation on the basis of scanned Aztec code
Information regarding reported car accidents obtained from UFG database
A map of Generali’s closest branches
A possibility to make a claim from the place of the accident
The first challenge was building a library reading off Aztec codes since the existing libraries on the market were not able to handle such a big and complex two-dimensional code which is presented on Polish logbook. After we managed to overcome this challenge, it turned out that data saved on a logbook is put there manually without using any accessible dictionary.
Since, for pricing the car there had to be a respective car indicated from the Eurotax dictionary, the team has prepared algorithms searching for the cars in the dictionary and narrowing down the choice of the user to a few items. The team started with an assumption that users do not like to type, and even worse, fill out long forms on their smartphones and thanks to these algorithms it was possible to achieve that.
Within 4 months there appeared an application which:
